Lima has become a culinary center in recent years as gastro snobs and regular mortals have discovered the plethora of tastes that can be found in this hectic, polluted city.  Even if you decide to skip the tour of downtown Lima and the museums, you owe it to yourself to discover what all the fuss is all about.  The great news is that high-end restaurants in Lima are still affordable, especially compared with North American or European prices.  You can find delicious typical meals for 6 soles, as well as high-end cuisine for US$50 a head.
